Favignana
Consider Favignana as your base camp in the Egadi. You can easily organize day trips to Levanzo & Marettimo from there, or even Erice an Marsala, on “mainland” Sicily. Speedboat are very frequent and efficient.

Marettimo
It has been defined the “Italian Red Sea“ for scuba divers and fully meets the expectations of those who love to delve in the wilderness and navigate in pristine waters, with colors ranging from blue to turquoise to emerald green.
Monte Falcone, summiting the island at 686 meters, has become a favorite for hikers among the groomed trails of the island and its unforgettable landscapes.
From a naturalistic point of view, it is the most interesting, thanks to its rich Mediterranean maquis and the presence of more than 200 endemic plants.
Marettimo can be reached from Favignana for an easy day-trip.

Levanzo
It is the smallest Islands, with a charming little port overlooked by the Ristorante Bar Romano (book for a table in summer).
The island is also famous for its Grotta del Genovese, discovered in 1949 (also a must-book place). Prehistoric drawings dating back 12,000-13.0000 years, depicts animals and men. It is not as elaborate as the drawings of Lascaux, Rouffignac or Les Combarelles in France, but it is nonetheless quite moving to imagine with these sketches the life of humans, as a time when you could walk you way from Levanzo to Favignana.
Levanzo can easily be reached from Favignana with one of the many daily inter-islands ferries. There are also numerous charter excursions leaving the harbor in the morning for a day trip there.
